This Privacy Policy explains what information TaxiMeter Pro ("the app") accesses, how it's used, and who it's shared with. TaxiMeter Pro is developed by CodeByIzza for taxi and ride-hailing drivers to calculate fares using GPS.
Location data
TaxiMeter Pro uses your device's GPS location to calculate trip distance, duration, and fare while a trip is active. Location is also used to show your position on the map and to search for or navigate to a destination.
Background location: while a trip is active, the app continues tracking your GPS location even if you turn off your screen or switch to another app, so that distance, waiting time, and fare calculation remain accurate and uninterrupted for the whole trip. Background location is only accessed while a trip is actively running — it is never accessed in the background at any other time.
Location data is not sold, rented, or shared with advertisers, and is not used for any purpose beyond operating the app's core fare-calculation and navigation features.
Trip locations (pickup and drop-off coordinates, with timestamps) are saved locally on your device as part of your trip history, so you can review past trips. This data is not uploaded to any server controlled by the developer.
Third-party services
To provide maps, search, and route calculation, TaxiMeter Pro sends limited location data to the following independent, third-party services as needed:
OpenStreetMap — provides the map tiles displayed in the app.
Nominatim (OpenStreetMap) — used to search for destinations and to convert coordinates into readable addresses (reverse geocoding).
OSRM (Open Source Routing Machine) — used to calculate the driving route and distance to a destination.
These are independent open-source services, not operated by CodeByIzza. Coordinates or search text you enter may be sent to them to fulfill your request. We encourage you to review OpenStreetMap Foundation's privacy policy for details on how they handle this data.
Data stored on your device
The following is stored locally on your phone and is not transmitted to the developer:
Trip history (fares, distances, durations, pickup/drop-off details)
Your fare rate settings, selected vehicle, currency, and language preferences
You can permanently delete this data at any time from within the app, using the delete/clear options in Trip History.
Information we do not collect
TaxiMeter Pro does not require account creation or login.
We do not collect your name, email address, or phone number.
We do not use advertising SDKs, ad trackers, or third-party analytics services.
Children's privacy
TaxiMeter Pro is a professional tool intended for licensed drivers and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the app's features change. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
